Teleported to Vanuatu

I am starting a blog to share my gift of dreams. Yes, I dream in color and sometimes cannot tell between reality and my dreams when I am in this spiritual world...

In my dream last night I was visiting my college town and filling in for a shift at a sushi restaurant. I was having a hard time getting back into the swing of how orders are inputted, and my coworker was doing most of the work. The restaurant became progressively busy, and I was having difficulty keeping up.  My kimono looking outfit had a hijab-like hood attached to it and my chef informed me that we all must wear this now. I wore it for a moment and then took it off.

But while working in-between the kitchen and the floor, I suddenly was transported to Vanuatu, a small group of islands NE of Australia in the Pacific. I was driving a car and waving at the locals past a gas station. The group of 20-something ladies seemed pretty excited to see me.

The land was very open and a beautiful green. The whole landscape was rather rural but with a town visibly ahead. For some reason the road didn't lead straight to the town, and I ended up going down a side road that wasn't really a road. I had to make my way through sheep and cows, I think, and while I was working at this, I realized that I needed to help with the shift at the restaurant. How did I get here? In my dream, I had no concept that I was dreaming and was completely shocked that I had teleported.

Toward the end of the road (still open beautiful green farmland, and I could somehow see everything happening above myself), I saw an older woman sitting in a beach/ lawn chair and watching me. I got out of my car to go speak to her, and was shocked when her blue-grey eyes showed that they did not register my English. Somehow through gesturing and saying key words, I learned that she was from South Africa (or somewhere near that). I said "Afrikaaner" and she responded, but when I said "Sprechen sie deutsch?" She was very excited. It was odd for me to see a woman in her late 60s who looked like a distant relative of mine unable to comprehend more than a few words of what I was saying. She had a wide and long face, with rather deepset eyes and wavy hair going white. She had wrinkles belying a life spent in the sun and spoke to me rather shyly as if she did not often interact with strangers.

I ended up looking at last-minute flights from Fiji somehow on a phone and they were $1300. There was no way I was getting back to my shift. Suddenly I was becoming aware that this was a dream. I ended up back in the restaurant and asked what had happened - had I fallen? Nobody seemed shocked that I had left and returned. And then my alarm woke me up...and then my cat made sure I woke up!

I hope to start making paintings associated with these dreams.
